If you need some ideas on what a one-man-show can achieve you can find out by looking at Utku Onal’s 2011 showreel. I personally would have gone with a different soundtrack, but the work is definitely highly professional. Utku’s words:

“I am a motion designer  from Turkey / Istanbul. My showreel includes works from 2007 to 2010 i choosed more personal works rather than commercial ones, but i added some web page based projects generally I am working with digital agencies as in house multimedia designer. Cheers.”

Here’s some interesting experimental and commercial work from Silo 1 Creative Studio. They are based in Istanbul and due to their dysfunctional homepage I can’t really tell you much more about them. Hopefully things will be up and running soon as their work is quite intriguing.

Keeping this weeks focus on turkish motion graphics we were happy to find this showreel of Dreambox, a new-media studio from Instanbul with a strong focus on motion-graphics and video-production. Founded in 2001 by Salim Cagri Oztoksoy it is one of the powerhouses of turkish broadcast-design and would fit seamlessly into the international domain. The reel pretty much speaks for itself with slick visuals and an overall quality that one would expect from a leading studio.

Some research on our recent statistics has shown that our readers are highly interested in turkish motion graphics artists. So from now on we will try to find some more showreels from this fast-growing region with it’s vast cultural heritage.

We start off with the competent and often beautiful reel from Bahar Pasa, an art-director from Istanbul, Turkey. If it weren’t for the boring music this would easily have made a lot more likes on Vimeo. Her work is professional and inspired and the variety of styles is a telltale sign for open-mindedness. Bahar is currently employed at Manajans JWT but looking for oppurtunites “make [her] life better” as she so nicely points out.
