Chris Wong Showreel 2011
The best thing about editing showreels is the great editing, obviously. Chris Wong has some very nice direction and editing work to show and he set it beautifully to the music of his choice. Cool work, indeed.

I’m a bit busy at the moment with all the success of MARCREA and whatnot, so updates have been slower than I’d like them to be. Today I found the time to dig up a worthwhile showreel for you, though. Have some interesting footage and graphics from “WHERE THERE’S SMOKE”. Lot’s of trendy and edgy images, just what you need if you’re targeting the MTV demographic.

French director Marc Fouchard sent in his 2010 showreel. It’s the typical french mixture of cheeky humor, beautiful shots and overall attention to detail. It just feels a little short, we certainly could’ve watched more of this.

Enough with the playing around. Here comes one of the really big-budget showreels of the year, from none other than The Mill. This is pretty much the edge of what’s possible and stylish, so take a good look and enjoy these perfect visuals.

If you need some ideas on what a one-man-show can achieve you can find out by looking at Utku Onal’s 2011 showreel. I personally would have gone with a different soundtrack, but the work is definitely highly professional. Utku’s words:
“I am a motion designer from Turkey / Istanbul. My showreel includes works from 2007 to 2010 i choosed more personal works rather than commercial ones, but i added some web page based projects generally I am working with digital agencies as in house multimedia designer. Cheers.”

B-REEL are keeping it real with their new showreel. Sorry, but I couldn’t help it. This international hybrid production company specializes in interactive media as well as the accompanying asset-production and their projects are quite awe-inspiring. Expect big clients and amazing visual-effects. Of note are their well-known interactive projects which exemplify a trend I’ve been expecting for a long time: high-quality film-production and interactive media are starting to converge to allow high-quality interactive experiences.

Yann Caloghiris Showreel 2010
In his own words: Yann Caloghiris is a digital creative and video director with over nine years experience, delivering thought-provoking and emotive integrated brand communications.
Well, he sent in his showreel and I can’t help but love how it sets a light mood while actually containing some pretty heavy projects. But see for yourself…

Fraser Davidson sent in his new showreel (our first with the 2011 tag!) and his work only keeps getting better. He delivers quite the punch and has just the right dynamic style for his many clients from the sports & games business. Watch it and enjoy the energetic vibe and great soundtrack.
