PROJECTS BREAKDOWN:
■ 00:02 - FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
[Environment TD] Was in charge of the Newt’s suitcase environment (desert/Graphorns area as well as some additional elements in the central area), including layout, digital matte painting and environment TD tasks. This sequence was shared with multiples vendors and featured several very long shots which brought several technical challenges to the numerous artistical ones.
■ 00:19 - A MONSTER CALLS
[Digital Matte Painter] Did a couple of DMP work on this shot, mostly to restore the the foreground and background, and remove the set elements (blue screen, dolly, …).
■ 00:23 - FANTASTIC FOUR
[Texture/Asset TD] Responsible for all the texturing part (+700 texture maps for +50 assets, done in Mari with a mix of texture/procedural) of all the rock assets in this sequence, as well as a good part of the modeling/sculpting.
■ 00:37 - A MONSTER CALLS
[Digital Matte Painter] Did a couple of DMP work on this shot, mostly to restore the the foreground and background, and remove the set elements (blue screen, dolly, …).
■ 00:40 - FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
■ 01:51 - A MONSTER CALLS
[Environment TD / Digital Matte Painter] Did a 180° digital matte painting environment setup to recreate a british town at night which had to be used on several shots. The camera/layout haven’t been available until late in the post-prod so my setup had to work in every angle.
■ 01:57 - FANTASTIC FOUR
[Texture TD] Responsible for the texturing of the ground. Done in Mari with a mix of texture/procedural.
■ 02:02 - A MONSTER CALLS
[Digital Matte Painter] Did a DMP to restore the background wall (remove practical head and on set crew) and created a projection setup to make it work on a couple of similar shots.
■ 02:07 - A MONSTER CALLS
[Environment TD / Digital Matte Painter] Did a 180° digital matte painting environment setup to recreate a british town at night which had to be used on several shots. The camera/layout haven’t been available until late in the post-prod so my setup had to work in every angle.
■ 02:12 - KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV
[Generalist TD] Responsible for building a 10x10km city used on +350 shots, which involved managing the environment layout, keeping the consistency through the different sequences while taking care of different damage states and keeping the environment up to date at all time. Later on the project, I joined the DMP team to enhance some of the wide shots, and finally helped in FX (smoke layout in Houdini) and Compositing.
■ 02:16 - FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
■ 02:27 - A MONSTER CALLS
[Environment TD] Set extension to replace the original ceiling with a new CG version: ceiling light assets (modeling, texturing, lookdev), rendering with Renderman RIS.
■ 02:38 - KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV
■ 03:04 - MURPHY (Student Shortfilm nominated at the 13th VES Awards)
Responsible for everything (from layout to final compositing) except a few props modelling (tents, vehicles). Trees done in SpeedTree and instanced in Maya using nParticles. Crowd Army done with Golaem Crowd. Rendered with Arnold.
■ 03:11 - MURPHY (Student Shortfilm nominated at the 13th VES Awards)
Responsible for everything (from layout to final compositing). FullCG shot rendered with Arnold, combining animated+static render and matte-paint. Trees done in SpeedTree and instanced in Maya using nParticles. I also did a quick setup/skin/animation of flying birds to add life to the shot.
■ 03:14 - MURPHY (Student Shortfilm nominated at the 13th VES Awards)
Creature Asset was done entirely by Xavier LAFARGE, and animated by Téo SAINTIER. I was in charge of layout, environment, lighting, render, matte-paint and compositing. Trees done in SpeedTree. Shot rendered with Arnold. Used vegetation from free libraries and adapted them to fit our needs.
